Cellfire Ranks Among The 25 Best Web 2.0 Applications PR Newswire Cellfire, the first nationwide mobile coupon and discount offer service for cell phone users, has been named a finalist in the Mobile category of the Webware 100, a voter-based poll created by CNET that identifies the best Web 2.0 software. Cellfire was one of 25 finalists in the Mobile category after Webware editors reviewed more than 5,000 nominations made between April 15 and May 7. Other finalists in the Mobile category include Google, Tellme, and Yahoo. Voting at http://www.webware.com/ will end June 11, and a winner in each of the 10 Webware categories will be chosen June 18 by Webware editors. "Cellfire is honored to have been nominated for the Webware 100 award," said Cellfire CEO Brent Dusing. "The groundswell of support for Cellfire demonstrates its ease of use and highlights the growing affinity among consumers to use their mobile phones to redeem mobile coupons and discount offers at their favorite merchants nationwide." Cellfire works with virtually every carrier and handset manufacturer and automatically uploads discounts to a consumer's cell phone. By clicking on the digital coupon, consumers receive a unique redemption code that is presented at the time of the purchase. Unlike SMS text-based coupons, Cellfire's secure application-based service enables consumers to easily store, search and use many discounts in a spam-free environment. Cellfire's participating merchants include 1-800-flowers.com, Domino's Pizza, Hardee's, Hollywood Video, magazine publisher Meredith Corp., Omaha Steaks, Peet's Coffee & Tea, T.G.I. Friday's, and numerous local merchants. Cellfire continuously adds new merchants and updates coupons and discount offers often. |
